Overview
The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a new scheme of the Government of India that provides financial support to establishments undertaking apprenticeship training. It was launched on August 19, 2016.
The Government of India introduced the initiative in August 2016 with the primary goal of enhancing the apprenticeship program nationwide. This program seeks to foster skill development and increase employability among youth by providing a robust framework for practical training. The government has implemented a comprehensive financial package to incentivise businesses to participate. This package includes subsidies for training costs, reimbursements for wages paid to apprentices, and additional support for the overall administration of apprenticeship programs within various industries. By encouraging more establishments to engage in apprenticeship training, the initiative aims to create a skilled workforce that meets the demands of a rapidly evolving job market.

Exemption from EPF & ESIC.
Will receive an Incentive of 25% of Apprentice Stipend subject to a maximum of Rs. 1500/ per month per apprentice.
Can utilize CSR budget for expenses related to NAPS trainees.
Apprentice trainees may be paid a stipend of up to 70% of minimum wages.
